Painting with Annie Sloan

I love to find old furniture and turn it into Romantic Vintage Finds. What's in a name? Everything...LOL

Want to creative your own Romantic Vintage Find? its easy

Start with a small project like a table

A table has flat surfaces and are very easy to paint.
To create a romantic piece the trick to remember is not to much sanding and not to much dark wax.

You want just enough to give it a worn aged look. To much will create a primitive look to your furniture.

Here is my step by step

Thanks for looking

How to Save a Great Vintage Frame with Shabby Chic Roses

I love to find great littles at the local Flea Market.
Littles are small object artisans find to re-purpose and sell.

I found this beautiful framed plaque that originally held a country rooster print.
It had no glass. So I thought it would be a perfect project to re-claim

I left the frame as I found it. You can see it was worth saving. It has layers of aged creamy colored paint and was sanded to perfection.

I simple pulled out my sunset colors and add painted my
shabby pink roses right over the rooster. A short time my project was finished.

If you find and interesting framed plaque. Don't pass it up.
re-use it and paint your art on it.

If you would like to try my roses you and find a video on my blog
Just look thru my post.

How to Save an UGLY Table with Annie Sloan Old White Chalk Paint and Shabby n Chic Rose

Hello, I'm Kate from Kate Bang Painting

Do you love saving painting furniture? I do.
I enjoy finding old unwanted pieces and giving them new life.

Here is a piece that you may find alone your travels.
Not quite antique not quite modern, but strangely a bit of both.
Perfect for painting.

If you find a piece like this I suggest a soft Old White Chalk paint.
Sand the edges slightly.
If you paint florals just add them off to the side, never in the middle.
You don't want to cover up your art with a lamp.
Don't forget to seal or wax

Good luck with your painting

Paint Shabby Chic Roses on Anne Sloan Old White Furniture by Kate Bangs Painting

How To Paint Shabby Chic Roses on Furniture a quick lesson!
This is not a fancy video. Just me in the back yard on a flip camera.

This is an older video before chalk paint days but I plan to try it on my next piece.

If you try this i suggest you seal it first then add florals and seal it again.
Sealing first is great if you make a mistake. it will wipe right off.

How to save a chair with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

I recently started selling painting furniture again. I've done it many years ago with great success. I love finding old pieces and giving them a vintage romantic make over. Plus the weather is now warmer and since I do most of my painting in my yard it is just the perfect time to paint.

Here is a simple Romantic Refreshing i just did for 2 worn out chairs. Using Annie Sloan Old White Paint and a little sanding.

Last week I saved this chair from the town land fill. Recycling cost zero dollars is good for the environment and I can pass that saving on to my  buyer.
It's what I call a Win Win Win ....lol
